Samsung and LG smart TVs both support IPTV apps directly, without needing a separate streaming device. Here is how to get set up on either platform in 2026.
Samsung Tizen TVs
Open the Samsung Smart Hub and search the Samsung App Store for an IPTV-compatible player. Not every third-party IPTV app is listed in every region’s store, so if your preferred app is missing, check whether it offers a Samsung-specific version or a web-based player you can access through the TV’s browser instead.
LG webOS TVs
LG’s webOS Content Store carries a smaller selection of dedicated IPTV apps than Samsung’s store. Many LG users instead cast from a phone or tablet running a full-featured IPTV app, or connect an inexpensive streaming stick to the TV’s HDMI port for the widest app compatibility.
Entering Your Playlist
Whichever app you install, you will need your M3U playlist URL or Xtream Codes login from your IPTV provider. Enter it in the app’s setup screen and give the channel list a minute to populate, especially on a first load.
If Your Smart TV App Options Are Limited
A budget streaming device like a Fire TV Stick or Android TV box plugged into any smart TV’s HDMI port often gives you far more app choice than the TV’s own built-in store. See our Fire TV Stick setup guide if you go this route.
